General

The Mooer GTRS Guitars Wing 800 Intelligent Guitar is a brilliantly innovative axe that seamlessly combines traditional sound with digital technology. The beating hart of the W800 is the active GTRS processor which serves up four tone presets that can be selected with the fitted super-knob and completely customised to taste. Add that to the eleven guitar sounds, 126 effects, drum machine, metronome, looper and other functions of the GTRS companion app, and you're looking at sound-sculpting options for days. What's more is that the Wing 800 comes complete with a gig bag and a USB-C cable.

The Wing 800 Intelligent Guitar: Solid Foundation

Needless to say, all of that modern tech is useless if the basics aren't done right, which is why Mooer have opted for an ergonomically-contoured alder body. Not only that, the weight has been kept down to a more-than-manageable 2.7kg, but what also stands out is the multi-scale design where the scale length graduates from 25.2-inches at the sixth string to 25.5-inches at the first string. This results in lightly fanned frets, which only lift the playing comfort while a pair of specially-developed HM-2 humbuckers take care of rich tone - even when the GTRS processor is powered down.

Vanaf het moment dat ik de GTRS uit de doos haalde, wist ik dat het een fijne gitaar zou zijn. De fret configuratie is erg fijn voor mijn lange vingers en het headless ontwerp is niet alleen modern en stijlvol, maar het maakt de gitaar ook ongelooflijk compact en gemakkelijk mee te nemen. De gigbag is verrassend klein en erg stevig. De gitaar wordt ook goed op zijn plaats gehouden tijdens vervoer.

Wat me echt verraste, was de ingebouwde versterker. De mogelijkheid om overal en altijd te kunnen spelen zonder afhankelijk te zijn van een versterker is top. En het geluid? Kristalhelder!

Daarnaast biedt de bijbehorende app een wereld aan mogelijkheden voor het aanpassen en finetunen van mijn geluid. Met zo'n uitgebreide reeks tools en effecten voelt het alsof ik een volledige studio in mijn handen heb. Zo'n pakket aan features zie je zelden voor deze prijs.

De app zelf bied ontiegelijk veel mogelijkheden, daar moet ik me nog wel eerst goed in verdiepen.

Mijn complimenten gaan ook uit naar Bax-shop voor hun uitstekende service, het was op de dag erg druk en werd me dan ook aangeraden om de gitaar gewoon te bestellen omdat je een maand bedenktijd krijgt. Ze hebben duidelijk een passie voor muziek en zorgen ervoor dat hun klanten de beste ervaring krijgen.

In conclusie, de Mooer GTRS 800 Wing is een fenomenale gitaar die innovatie en kwaliteit mooi combineert. En Bax-shop is mijn go-to plaats voor al mijn muzikale behoeften.
