The Yamaha Red Label FG5 harks back to Yamaha's FG models from the 1960s. This modern dreadnought has an all-solid construction, where the soundboard is made from Sitka spruce and the body has been constructed from mahogany for a stunning mix of forceful basses and rich mid-range frequencies. Crafted in Japan, the whole thing is coated in gloss lacquer and comes wrapped up inside a matching guitar case.

The FG5: Acoustic Resonance Enhancement

Yamaha's exclusive Acoustic Resonance Enhancement process uses warmth, humidity and atmospheric pressure to speed up the natural ageing process of the wood. Treating the wood this way results in richer sound, like the guitar has been played for years already. Yamaha Red Label FG5 Gloss All-Solid Acoustic Guitar with Case

Ik heb ervaring met een Yamaha FG 200 uit 1976 en een Martin HD 28 uit 2022.
Nu de FG5. Hij ziet er uit als een typische gitaar uit de sixties/seventies. Mooie open stemmechanieken. Hij speelt zeer soepel. Je kunt zonder moeite uren door blijven gaan. Dat is met de Martin wel anders; dat is hard werken. Het geluid is warm, vol en toch helder. Hij is vrij luid, minder dan mijn FG 200, maar die is dan ook extreem luid. Daarnaast heeft hij een geweldige sustain. Ik heb nog een heel stel andere gitaren geprobeerd, maar ik denk dat deze FG 5 zeker in zijn prijsklasse en waarschijnlijk ook een heel stuk daarboven, een van de beste gitaren is.
