Besides the immense stack of sounds the Yamaha PSR-A5000 comes with, a Chord Looper function is provided for recording looped chord progressions, melodies, or beats, leaving both hands free to fatten out the arrangement and play with the other fitted toys, including the expressive pitch/modulation mini-stick. The keyboard also offers liquid playability, and the large touch-screen planted in the middle of the control panel boasts a clean and logical menu layout for quick sound, style, and parameter navigation and selection. In het begin vond ik de Yamaha er altijd uitzien als een speelgoed-keyboard. Ook het feit dat de stroomvoorziening via een AC-adapter is, vond ik een no-go. Als jarenlang Korg-gebruiker heb ik mij toch laten overhalen om voor een Yamaha keyboard te gaan.

Wat een sound heeft dit ding. Alles klinkt kristalhelder en mijn Korg heeft een hoop EQ nodig wil het als de Yamaha klinken. Voorlopig wordt hij enkel thuis gebruikt. Ik begrijp dat het natuurlijk wennen is, maar qua interface hadden ze bij Yamaha best mogen afkijken bij Korg. Het is nog best wel een rommeltje soms met de registration memory etc.

Dat is ook de enige reden waardoor de keyboard geen 5 sterren krijgt.
Want zoals gezegd, qua sound komt Korg niet eens in de buurt van Yamaha.
