Darkglass' Microtubes 500 is a 500-watt version of the renowned Microtubes 900 bass guitar amplifier head. 500 watts of power is probably more than enough for most bass guitarists and it makes this version more compact, lighter and more affordable too. It still offers distinctive Darkglass sounds thanks to its dual B3K and VMT Microtubes engines.
The Microtubes 500: Comprehensive yet Easy to Use
It doesn't take much to get a great bass sound out of the Mirotubes 500. Simply connect your bass and use the 4-band EQ, gain and volume controls to perfect your tone. When you need a little bit extra, push the Microtubes Engine button to add natural compression, harmonic enhancement and saturation ranging from mild overdrive to high gain rage to your sound. You can adjust the engine's settings using the Drive, Tone, Level and Blend controls. The B3K/VMT button engages one of the two overdrive circuits for a more aggressive or warmer sound respectively. The Blend control is particularly handy as it allows you to mix in the clean sound with the distorted signal. If you're looking for a versatile compact bass amp head, Darkglass' Microtubes 500 is an excellent choice.
