The original Bassbone has been around for a while now, "high time for a new version" they must have thought at Radial. And not without reason, the original product turned out to be one of the most successful bass preamps around. Radial sat down with famous bassists to find out what could be improved. The result is the Radial Bassbone OD preamp for bass instruments, a product full of useful features and effects.

Features of the Radial Bassbone OD

The Bassbone OD has two inputs for bass instruments (A and B), both equipped with gain and equaliser. The A input further features a Drag Control load correction to improve the sound of passive vintage instruments - for example, a Fender bass. The B-input, with its PZB booster, is extra sensitive to Piezo converters common on a double bass. Use the footswitch to select A or B. The blend switch allows you to bring both inputs together, very handy if you are using a dual pickup.

Further functions

The built-in send & receive effects loop allows you to use both inputs with an effects pedal. You further add the necessary 'grit' with the Bassbone OD's overdrive, of which you can set drive, tone and mix. If you want some time alone with your bass, plug in 3.5 mm headphones.
