Darkglass Microtubes X7 Multi-Band Bass Preamp & Overdrive Distortion

The Microtubes X7 builds on the firm legacy of the Darkglass Microtubes X. The X7 is the Swiss army knife of bass preamp/distortions, made to swiftly and brutally open a bass-flavoured can of worms. Where the Microtubes X was able to place the defined clean signal in parallel with a just a defined distortion signal, the X7 takes things that bit further by politely throwing in a five-band EQ section. Of course, we're also treated to a parallel output as well as a balanced direct output for even more power over both extremes: the clean and distorted. So, the parallel output can be used as a clean DI when recording, and when on stage, the normal output, or direct output where the clean and distorted signal is mixed, can be used at the same time to hit that perfect sweet spot. The high-pass and low-pass filters of the Microtubes X are also thankfully included for the ultimate in high and low frequency fine-tuning, but what's definitely new is the fitted Low Comp and Low Level pots. These give you the power to set the compression level of the lower frequencies, then adjust the output level for the low-pass signal. The immense detail offered by this humble stompbox is actually breathtaking.
