Hohner CX-12 Bb harmonica

This chromatic harmonica from Hohner is a highly innovative harmonica with a unique sound and a robust design. The unique sound is created by 48 reeds made of brass (1.05 mm thick) that you can control through the airtight mouthpiece. Because almost no air is lost, the CX-12 has a full, unique sound and an extremely fast response. For the production of this Hohner harmonica mainly ABS was used, which is a hard plastic that can easily be shaped in the production process and is therefore very suitable for this modern design. The comb is also made of this material and, in combination with the housing, gives a lot of stability to the sound, in all kinds of conditions. This harmonica is tuned in Bb major and has a range of 3 octaves.

Ergonomically ideal

The matt black housing is made of ABS (a hard plastic) and is ergenomically very finely designed. Unlike most harmonicas, the CX-12 has many round shapes. For instance, the sides and back are nicely rounded to better fit the shape of your hand. The round shapes are also reflected in the mouthpiece; in fact, the 12 holes are round, making them feel finer to your lips. When designing the CX-12, Hohner also thought about how to maintain the instrument. You don't need any tools to dismantle the harmonica; you can simply take the different parts apart and put them back together again, making cleaning a lot easier.
