The Silverline Standard from Blackstar is a 20-Watt combo amp that offers true-to-life tube sounds from various boutique amps; all with the stability of a modelling transistor combo and made possible via the SHARC processor. The Voice and Response switches can be used to create up to 36 different sounds. Start by selecting one of the six voices that vary from perfectly clean to fat overdrive. Next, choose from one of the six possible power amp emulations that have been based on True Valve Power. Then, using the gain, bass, treble and ISF controls, you can further tweak your foundation sound to taste before saving it to one of the channel presets. For effortless switching between the channels - and their 32 available banks - you can optionally use an FS-10 footswitch (sold separately).

Ik heb de Blackstar Silverline aangeschaft als huiskamerversterker, als handzamer exemplaar naast mijn Deluxe Reverb buizenversterker die ik in de oefenruimte heb staan. Heb deze amp pas in huis gehaald en ben er verbaasd van. Als je een versterker wil zonder een hoop pedalen er op aan moeten sluiten dan moet je deze hebben. Ben vooral verbaasd over de reverb. Er is keuze uit een zestal type buizen; combineer deze met de befaamde door Blackstar ontwikkelde ISF knop waarmee je van USA tot UK sounds kunt instellen en alles daartussen, en je hebt een lading aan befaamde sounds bij de hand. Deze kun je opslaan in patches verdeeld over een aantal banken. Natuurlijk ook met de footswitch bedienbaar. Hulde. Zelf ben ik meer een tweaker en bij mij staat de versterker doorgaans in de 'manual' stand. In deze stand kun je de footswitch gebruiken om effecten aan- en uit te schakelen en het tap-tempo in te stellen.
Deze versterker heeft, in tegenstelling tot veel andere modelling-amps, geen kant en klare geluiden maar alle gereedschap aan boord om deze zelf samen te stellen. Ik vind het werkelijk het einde en raak er maar niet op uitgekeken. Ook mijn andere gitaren met singlecoils of humbuckers klinken echt super op deze amp.
Direct maar de FS10 footswitch erbij besteld, een must en niet al, te duur. De bouwkwaliteit van deze amp is buitengewoon solide. De kast, de knoppen, alles straalt degelijkheid uit. Is er ook een nadeel? Jazeker, er is geen 'looper' voorhanden en ook een effectloop ontbreekt . Dat vind jammer maar de sound maakt alles
