General
With the MKII, Boss has kept all the features of the original Katana 50 in terms of sound and feel, but added some important updates here to give you more control, sounds and effects sounds, among other things. The variation knob allows you to add 5 more amps to the 5 Katana amp sounds already present in the MKI. All sounds are obviously based on classic tube amps. With the new dual control potentiometers, you can now exert your influence on each effect type. Also, you now have 65 including poly-octave and pitch-shifting to choose from. Apart from the amp, this set also includes an instrument cable to connect your guitar and a USB cable to connect it to your PC.
Katana 50 MKII: new Tone Editor and Power Amp In
There is also an updated version of the free Boss Tone Studio Editor, which gives you ultimate control over all the effects and other features of this potent guitar combo. Also, you can still use the presets from the original first series in this version. Do you use a high-quality effect processor or similar multi-effect and want to seamlessly integrate it into your setup? Then connect it to the new power amp input for a direct path to this Katana 50's Class A/B output stage and custom 12-inch speaker.
Inspired guitar playing in different situations
Even with this 50-watt Katana amp, it doesn't matter if you want to play clean, distorted or acoustic. In all these scenarios, you still obtain the sound and dynamic range that both enable inspired guitar playing. The ease of setting your favourite sound is also still there, which you can simply store on 8 Tone Settings presets and quickly bring up. Via USB, the headphone out and the line output, you can output the guitar sound with cabinet emulation and tweak it extra with the 3 different Air Feel settings. In addition, you can use various effect types over USB from this Boss amp to your computer and DAW when recording, for example.
