It's hard to think of an artist who hasn't worked with session musician Andy Timmons. From the Beach Boys to Steve Vai, Nugent to Satriani, Andy Timmons has earned his stripes as a great studio guitarist. For years, Timmons has been a big fan of the versatile Carl Martin compressor/limiter, which is suitable for virtually any genre. Now, Andy Timmons has incorporated his own personal preferences into this signature pedal. The Carl Martin Andy Timmons Compressor/Limiter allows you to create and save two separate presets - one for subtle rhythm parts and another for heavy solos, for example.

Studio compression in a stomp box

One of the reasons the original Carl Martin compressor/limiter was so popular is because of its amazing sound quality, which is the result of its 12-volt capacity, allowing it more headroom than a standard 9-volt pedal. Of course, it would be problematic if the pedal couldn't function on regular 9-volt power, so Carl Martin equipped the Andy Timmons Signature Compressor/Limiter with a newly-developed circuit that transforms 12 volts to 9 volts internally. That means you won't need an extra 12-volt adapter to use the Andy Timmons Signature pedal, while the quality of the effect remains top-notch. What's more, the pedal is more compact, and easier to fit on your board.

Tone control

The Andy Timmons Signature Compressor/Limiter allows you to make two separate presets. The original pedal had four full-size buttons for compression, level, threshold, and response. To keep the dimensions of this signature pedal nice and compact, Carl Martin decided to make separate controls for level and compression, and shared mini controls for threshold and response. The functions of the switches speak for themselves; using the select button, you can activate the desired preset, and with the other, you can turn the effect off. In short, the Carl Martin and Andy Timmons Compressor/Limiter offers studio quality, but at the same time, user-friendliness and versatility!
