This cymbal is designed to be used as a crash or a ride. This 19-inch crash-ride has a deep, complex and warm sound with medium sustain. These cymbals are less suitable for soft, light music. They perform best at medium to louder volumes. The integrated bell provides a nice layer of overtones that contribute to the cup's 'ping' sound. As for stick definition for ride patterns, that's totally fine. If you use the cymbal as a crash, you will hear a nice 'washy' sound with a range of overtones.

Forty-five years after the first 2002 cymbals were launched, Paiste comes up with a new concept: the 2002 Black Big Beat cymbals. Based on the legendary 2002 cymbals, but just a touch bigger, just a bit more warmth and depth which makes the mix of these Black Big Beat cymbals sound extra complex. These 2002 Black Big Beat cymbals come in sizes ranging from 18 to 24 inches. Each cymbal is suitable for use as either a crash or a ride, and two pairs of hihat cymbals are available in the same series: 15 and 16 inches. The cymbals were carefully handmade and hammered in Switzerland.
