Paiste Formula 602 Modern Essentials 16-inch Crash cymbal

The crash, a drum kit can't really do without it. That's why Paiste offers three crash cymbals in their Modern Essentials series. This is the Paiste Formula 602 Modern Essentials 16-inch Crash, the smallest of the three. The volume ranges from soft to loud and the attack sound is soft, washy and slightly shimmering. "Transparent" is a description the co-designer attributes to this crash. The response is excellent, making this crash suitable for studio and live. An 18-inch and 20-inch variant is also available, if you are looking for a lower timbre.

Modern Essentials

Vinnie Colaiuta, a drummer born in 1956, is the co-designer of the Modern Essentials series. Not the least, Colaiuta has an impressive list of artists on his CV. Just a few names: Joe Cocker, Paul Anka, Backstreet Boys, Anastacia, Destiny's Child and Burt Bacharach. If anyone has an ear for detail, it is Vinnie, and the Modern Essentials series is the result of his collaboration with Swiss Paiste.
