General

This is the Chrome Edition of Allen & Heath's high-end GLD-80 PA mixer. Not only has this device been given a makeover on the outside, the inner workings have also been revamped. The GLD-80 has a number of new features and plugin FX, for starters, and with the addition of GLD Chrome firmware, it also offers Auto Mic Mixing and compressor-emulations per channel.

Overview

The GLD-80 is a user-friendly live mixer based on the brand's successful iLive series. The I/O expanders give you 48 inputs supported by a complete package of apps, software and personal monitoring options. What's more, the mixer boasts eight stereo FX returns, 30 configurable buses, 20 mix processing channels and DSP power.

GLD Remote App

The GLD Remote App gives the user complete wireless control over the GLD-80 mixer so the engineer doesn't have to stay at the mixing console the whole time and is able to move around the room and adjust the sound where necessary. The GLD-80 and GLD Remote App can be used simultaneously to operate different functions; for example, one engineer can use the console to mix the FoH sound while another uses an iPad to mix the stage monitors.
