With the HP605 CB Contemporary Black, Roland has introduced a digital piano that allows for an enjoyable, comfortable piano experience. From Tchaikovsky's piano concert to Debussy's Claire de Lune, this piano ensures delightful results. The HP605 is equipped with a SuperNATURAL engine that delivers beautiful piano sound with unlimited polyphony. Additionally, the digital piano offers hundreds of other tones, which can all handle up to 384 simultaneous voices.

The Roland HP605's piano

Many modern digital pianos make use of piano samples, and - to be fair - those are quite good these days. Roland, however, takes piano sound to the next level with their SuperNATURAL engine, which uses physical modelling technology. Instead of samples, it uses complex formulas to calculate the appropriate sound for each note that's truck. Hammer, string and cabinet resonance are all taken into account, ensuring an incredibly life-like sound. To please the eye as well as the ear, Roland has given the HP605 an attractive design, and its keys and pedals feel fantastic under your fingers and feet.

Additional possibilities

Who doesn't own a smartphone or a tablet these days? Set up a Bluetooth connection with the HP605, and you're able to stream music from your device. You'll be able to play along with your favourite tracks or with recorded four-hand piano parts. It's also worth looking into the available apps. There's an iOS app, for instance, which gives you access to over 70,000 sheet music files. Turning the virtual pages is easy - you can simply use your digital piano's pedals.

Roland HP605 CB Contemporary Black digital piano

Bought this as an upgrade from an ageing Roland KR-570 Digital Piano. The HP605 has a more traditional piano look, which I prefer. The keyboard is much improved from the KR-570. It has a lovely piano feel to it. The piano sounds can be very sonorous, with lots of resonance and long decay - sounds authentic to my ears. The Roland 'Piano Partner 2' app is an essential tool unless you want to fiddle your way around the various menus with the small set of buttons above the keys. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. Service from Bax was excellent.
