The Yamaha YDP-144 is part of their Arius series and is designed to do one thing and does it superbly. This digital piano simply replicates the natural feeling and faithful sound of an acoustic upright without any unnecessary extras. Even the white finish and design of this model is simple and clean. The keys are weighted to feel like a hammer is actually being struck somewhere inside a cabinet as your fingers move over the keyboard.

Learn to play as if you're playing a real piano

If you're learning, it's important to be playing a keyboard that responds with the same feeling and response as that of an acoustic piano. This way, the correct technique is developed and there are no nasty surprises when transferring to acoustic pianos. As such, Yamaha have installed a set of modern Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keys in the YDP-144 digital piano. The resulting realism is only enhanced by the colour and character of the sound this piano delivers, which has been faithfully based on the acclaimed Yamaha CFX grand piano. So faithfully in fact, that you can even hear the resonance of undamped strings. There are some features that remind you that this piano is digital. There are two headphone outputs, effects, duo mode (perfect for teaching) and a MIDI output.
