Yamaha's P-515 is a digital piano that gives you the fantastic sounds of the CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand pianos among many others. In fact, the P-515 has more than 500 sounds on board! This makes it perfect for playing, writing and recording just about any style of music. It has a Natural Wood X keyboard with 88 synthetic ivory and ebony keys that offer an authentic playing feel. A base can be ordered separately to give you an even more realistic piano playing experience, especially as a single FC4A sustain pedal is already included.

The Yamaha P-515 Digital Piano

Thanks to two 15-watt and 5-watt amplifiers, along with binaural sampling and a stereophonic optimiser, the P-515 produces highly-realistic sounds no matter whether you're listening through the built-in 2-way speakers or via headphones. The Twisted Flare Bass port ensures that the lowest notes come through clearly as well. With Bluetooth functionality on board, you can even stream music through the P-515's speakers. Recreating the sounds of acoustic instruments digitally is not easy to do, but Yamaha's Virtual Resonance Modelling is so good you may well forget you're playing a digital piano! The super-fast chip not only calculates things like the resonance of the frame and the soundboard, even the aliquot resonance is taken into account!

More possibilities

The Piano Room function allows you to create your own piano sounds and you also have control over things like how wide the virtual piano lid is open as well as the damper resonance and the touch sensitivity. You can add a number of effects like reverb and chorus to sounds as well. There's a Rhythmic Playback function that gives you accompaniments with a digital drummer and a bassist and you can choose from over 40 different styles including pop, rock, disco, dance, jazz, country, salsa, samba and reggae.

Smart Pianist app for iOS

If you have an iOS device, you can make use of the Smart Pianist app to look over, adjust and save settings. It also makes it easy to link the P-515 to your iTunes library and the app can then analyse your favourite songs at the push of a button and show you the chords to the song so that you can play along.
