General
While it's technically the 'entry-level' model in Yamaha's Clavinova Series, the CLP-725 is nonetheless brimming with brilliant features and innovative functions. Fully-fledged yet a little more budget-friendly, this digital piano has an 88-note GrandTouch-S keyboard with synthetic keys for not only a huge dynamic range, but a feeling of consistently assured control thanks to amazing key response and an intuitive playing feel.
The Yamaha Clavinova CLP-725B Digital Piano White
Backed up by binaural sampling technology, the Clavinova CLP-725 convincingly reproduces the dynamic range and tonal variations of Yamaha's CFX grand pianos. Through binaural sampling, piano sounds are given a kind of 3D stereo character, with more 'breathing room' and enhanced realism. In addition to this innovative bit of technology, Yahama have loaded a Stereophonic Optimizer into the CLP-725, which optimises sound spatialisation and as a result, shapes a type of surround sound that sounds great when you're playing with headphones on.
Clavinova Design
The Yamaha CLP-725 is all about eyes and ears and boasts a beautiful design that won't look out of place in most rooms. While this is the White version, Yamaha also offer a black and a dark rosewood model, all of which are of course outfitted with the same speaker system: two 16cm speakers supported by two 20W amplifiers. Lastly, if you'd prefer to play via your laptop using your own samples, you simply connect the piano up via the fitted USB-to-host port.
