The screamer-style Tone City Kaffir Lime can be set up to serve as a fierce overdrive and can deliver a potent volume boost of up to +30 decibels. Couple it up with an amplifier with a dirty setting dialed in to coat the sound in an extra layer of saturation and to give the sustain an extra push. This slimline stompbox also gives your output the mix-punching benefit of a much-sought-after 'mid-hump' and, when combined with the clean channel of your amp, can spit a classic and natural bluesy crunch. Tweak the two-band EQ controls as preferred and slot a surprisingly versatile and affordable little tool into your effects chain.
