Pioneer DJ HDJ-X10 DJ Headphones
Ok so I’ve had the headphones for 2 days now and have been using them on the mixing desk and with general listening (to an iPad / laptop).
The first thing I noticed was the build quality. The set is made mainly of metal which obviously feels solid and robust but time will tell. They are not to heavy on the head and I could easily wear these for a few hours no problem.
* Probably worth noting I’m comparing these to the sennheiser HD25 which I’ve used for nearly 20 years and love
I would have liked to have seen just a small amount more padding around and in the cups but as it’s stands at the moment they are comfortable.
The sound quality is great on and off the EQ and I am hearing parts not experienced before in the highs.
One thing that has caught my attention is the braided cable that come with the set. It looks and feels nice. However If it drags across the corner of a surface (for example the edge of a table/worktop) the sound reverberates up into the cups.
This is incredibly annoying. A more flexible and smooth cable would probably negate this.
There is another cord in the box (the spiral type which I’m not fond of this type) I may have to use.
But all in all so far I’m happy.
