Over at Promark, they're always looking to innovate during the development process of a new pair of drumsticks. For the Select Balance Series, three standard pair of sticks were taken and tweaked in terms of weight distribution. The centre of gravity of these sticks has been pushed back, giving you the kind of rebound you need to play subtle rhythms. If more speed, power and momentum is what you need instead, check out the Forward model which has more weight at the front.

Teardrop-Tipped Hickory Sticks

These 5B sticks are made of hickory, which is the most commonly-used wood type for drum sticks due to its lightweight yet hard-wearing nature. They're also a little thicker than 'standard' 5A sticks and produce more volume, while the tips are teardrop shaped and have a large contact surface to guarantee full, dark sound on drums, and cymbals in particular.
