The Audix i5 is popular with a wide audience. The VLM membrane (Very Low Mass) gives the mic a natural, authentic sound. The cardioid pickup pattern combined with its broad dynamic range makes this microphone extremely versatile. Next to that, the membrane also ensures that contact and background noise are kept to a minimum. A maximum SPL of 140 dB without clipping is nothing short of remarkable. Audix has developed a patented attachment system called the 'CabGrabber', which makes mounting the microphone on amplifiers or cabinets a walk in the park.

The Audix i5 has a dynamic range of 50 Hz - 16 kHz, which, next to its wide variety of applications, makes for a natural, clear sound. Without any EQing, this mic offers a clear, honest sound, right out of the box. It also has a zinc alloy body and a 'dent proof' steel grille, making it not only sturdy but also suitable for use in a wide range of circumstances.
