The strings consist of a hexagonal core with stainless steel windings and have medium-heavy diameters from .045 to .130 inches. They provide a powerful and clear sound, with a sharp attack and pronounced treble. This makes them particularly suitable for slapping, cutting rock and funky grooves that you want to cut through the mix with. The taperwound B string is wound thinner near the bridge, allowing it to resonate better and sound deeper and fuller without sticking out above the other strings. This improves both playing comfort and intonation. You can only use these strings on basses with a toploader bridge, they are not suitable for string through body mounting.
