General
Built from a tasty wood-based buffet, the Fazley Judge Plus bass has a solid ash body with a bolted-on maple neck. Finished with a special, hand-rubbed stain, the natural wood grain of the body remains visible, giving this model its unique and refined look, while the maple neck has been roasted to maximise stability and coated in satin-gloss to support a smooth and agile playing feel. A single-coil pickup has been planted at both the bridge and middle positions to guarantee a wide range of warm and familiar J-bass-style tone, and the output can be tweaked at will using the mounted controls. Part of the Outlaw Series, this bass means serious business, and even comes complete with a gig bag.

So the hand oiled finish is about the wildest shade of green you could possibly imagine, more like the Signal Green shade you used to get on Fords, but hey, it's only £63! About that £63... Look at the neck pocket fit and finish - I have £2k+ basses that aren't as well finished as this bass! I've a good mind to phone Bax and ask them if I owe them any more money! Fit and finish is amazing for the price, even at the usual £290 RRP they should normally be. The roasted maple fingerboard is finished very well too. Frets are all properly seated with no sharp edges whatsoever, and the fingerboard edges are totally smooth, if not actually rolled. The ash body is a little lacking in grain, but hey, £63! The setup is almost bang on as well. It'll just need a slight tweak of the truss rod tomorrow. Plugged in, it's pure Jazz bass sound with no cycle-hum, and so far I can't see any penny pinching as such. Even the tuners are the same quality ones you get on a Sire Marcus Miller bass. A big thumbs up for the Fazley 'The Judge' Plus!

I got it for £63 in the winter sale which is a bargain. It's a lovely bass. Just needed a quick tweak to the truss rod and it's ready to go. It sounds great. I was all prepared to get some aftermarket pickups, but I don't need to. The taper on the tone pot is fine, so the pots are alright. It seems to hold tune well. Mine comes in at 4.44kg. Outstanding value for money at £63, so I'm very happy! I'm tempted by the 5 string Fazley Jazz now...

I have about a dozen low cost basses, mainly Squire PJ or P, but this has quickly become no.1. Great Matt finish with wood grain visible proper rosewood fingerboard good tone range (j basses are usually quieter) best feature is thin neck profile that makes it easier to play. Finally it’s set up perfect with low action, no rattles. Delivered quickly, happy customer here!

Cette basse est une très bonne affaire,je l'ai acheté sans illusion vu le prix,mais pour faire court elle sonne très bien ,les micros ont un niveau de sortie assez puissant,on retrouve le growl caractéristique d'une bonne JB et j'en ai possédé qui valaient plus 10 fois ce prix.
Le manche est facile, très bon confort de jeu et quel plaisir ce corps en frêne sans vernis gloss épais !
Elle est arrivée relativement bien réglée .
Pour les défauts,certaines mécaniques sont oxydées et les cordes ne passent pas parfaitement entre les aimants des micros (défaut commun même sur des basses à plus 1000€!)
Un petit séjour chez mon luthier devrait arranger ça.
J'ajoute que la jointure du manche dans le corps est parfaite ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas même sur des basses à plus de...etc.etc..
Reste à voir la tenue dans le temps je ne l'ai joué qu'une dizaine d'heures.
Vous prenez peu de risques en achetant ce modèle,les débutants seront contents et les expérimentés seront surpris.
