General
The Schecter J-5 Maple LH combines a classic J-bass design with modern features. This left-handed model has an alder body and a bolt-on maple neck with a maple fingerboard. The 35-inch scale length of 889 mm provides a long string length, suitable for the 5-string version. The Thin C neck profile and the 45 mm wide nut provide a comfortable foundation for a variety of playing styles. The Sea Foam Green finish gives the bass a fresh look, whilst the black hardware provides a contrasting finish.
MonsterTone-J pickups
The J-5 Maple LH is fitted with two Schecter USA MonsterTone-J pickups, positioned at the bridge and neck. These passive pickups are designed to deliver a powerful sound with a relatively high output, whilst retaining the character of passive pickups. The controls consist of two volume controls and a tone control with a push-pull coil-tap. This allows the tonal character of the pickups to be further adjusted. The 21 Narrow X-Jumbo frets and the 16-inch fingerboard radius complete the playable neck construction.
Schecter Custom Bass bridge
The Schecter Custom Bass String-Thru bridge can be used in both string-through and top-load configurations. This allows the strings to be routed either through the body or from the bridge, as preferred. The Schecter tuners and black hardware round off the hardware package. The J-5 Maple LH has model number 2915 and comes with D’Addario Bass Nickel Wound Long Scale NYXL45130 strings in gauge .045-.130. The SCSGR-UNIV6 case is suitable for this instrument, but is sold separately.
