Fazley Vintage Series FSC318 Ivory

Paid £55 for it so wasn’t too bothered by the jagged bridge post and complete inability to stay in tune. Got a mate to put a Wilkinson bridge on and new tuners, pots and nut. It’s now decent.

Really great price for an essential little gadget. Works for any string instrument.

Guitars are alround bargain.the best buy I have had for many years. Perfect beginner which can be easily upgraded as you advance a set of new strings is all you need.

For £75 this Fazley is excellent value for money. I can't fault the finish or workmanship. With a mahogany body and set neck I thought that it would cost a lot more. The P90 sounds absolutely fantastic too. I expected having to faff about for ages to set it up but managed to get a low action within minutes. Superb.

Excellent and I can hardly believe that this is the case. I wanted to try a P90 so I bought this as a backup guitar and one that would be used probably more than the Gibson which I perform with. The FSC318IV looks great, the frets amazingly are fine, the potentiometers are not the best but are acceptable, I expected to have to change the nut, bridge and tuners but these are quite usable. The action is low and buzz free. I thought that it would require hours to set it up but after tuning it played very well straight out of the box. The price was really good and I see it is even better now (shucks). Packing was very good with a high quality guitar box within a larger box and delivery via Parcel Force was excellent.

i changed the strings because the ones fitted were pulling out of their eyes.
i cut the nut slots down to 0.30mm.
now it plays good stays in tune and sounds nice.

Far exceeded my expectations,very well finished,nice smooth and even frets.Plays well out of the box.A genuine bargain.

Since the reviews so far seem to be a bit on the depressing side, I thought I'd throw in a good one; I wasn't expecting anything exceptional for a shade under 100 notes delivered, but was hooked by the set neck and colour... Action was miles-high out of the box; truss rod was way too tight, so the bridge had been left way up to compensate - backed off the truss rod, lowered the bridge - now all good; didn't even have to play with the intonation adjusters - fret job is perfectly acceptable on the one I got (very good indeed in fact - I'd been preparing myself to break out the files and wet and dry, but didn't need to do a single dress-up). Also, loads of downwards adjustment still available on the bridge if you wanted the strings completely decked, but since the action is now where I want it, the only 'issue' is that I'll have to stick in a spacer under the P90 to get that closer to the strings (since it's true to the LP original, no height adjustment on the surface mount pickup, so as mentioned by one of the other posters, not unusual); but the sounds it's giving are pretty damn good anyway, so that can wait for a rainy day.

So, considering Bax probably sell loads of these and there are only a few bad reviews posted here, I'd suggest the balance of probability is that the reviewers below me were unfortunate to get some bad apples (and let's face it, all manufacturers put those out every now and again) - and that most people have a good experience of this neat little guitar, but simply don't bother to post a 'it's good' review?!

By the by - the 'Ivory' on mine is pretty much TV Yellow, which to me is a bonus :)

I reviewed this guitar earlier and have decided to lower my score from 3 to 2. As you can see from my original review the guitar had several issues that I have resolved. However the guitar still has 2 faulty tuners, and this wasn't apparent until after paying someone to do a fret level. Bax initially suggested possibly sending replacement tuners, but now say they cant do this. So it looks like I will have to pay for replacement tuners myself. To be fair, Bax have offered several times to replace the guitar by sending it back, however this would probably mean paying again for a setup on the new guitar. Wish I had just got an Epiphone or Harley Benton, I'll probably sell this locally at a loss amd do this at some point soon.
