The 1979 Gibson Les Paul Artist is a rare piece of guitar history, completely original and supplied with a case. This guitar was built in Kalamazoo during the Norlin era, and combines traditional luxury with innovative electronics. The solid mahogany body and maple top provide a powerful foundation, whilst the gold-plated hardware and bound ebony fretboard feel instantly familiar. A striking feature is the Fireburst finish, which has aged beautifully over the years. Thanks to Moog-designed active electronics – featuring built-in compression, expansion and brightness control – this Les Paul Artist offers a remarkably wide tonal palette and exceptional clarity. The active, low-impedance humbuckers deliver a high-fidelity sound with great definition, ideal for guitarists who want studio-quality sound straight from their instrument.
