The Schecter brand has been around for a few years, but has been particularly popular among metal guitarists in recent years. The competitive price and versatile features contribute to this. This Sunset-7 is a good example. For instance, the instrument features a nyatoh body; a tropical hardwood, also called 'nato' or 'eastern mahogany', and is very easy to process and handle. The sound characteristics of this type of wood are quite neutral. Ideal for most metal guitarists, as here it is mainly the pickups that are important for the tight, high-gain sounds. Finished with a beautiful, flamed top, the guitar also looks to pass through a ring.

Sunset-7: Modern and comfortable

Bolted to the nyatoh body is a five-piece maple/palissander neck that features an ebony fingerboard. Incidentally, the neck features carbon fibre bracing for a super solid construction that hardly moves in humid or hot weather. The fingerboard features a decent flat, 16-inch radius and this makes for a smooth and fast feel. Indeed, when pressing the strings, you hardly experience any friction, making it easier to play fast and play the so-called 'double stops'. The Schecter USA Sunset Strip and Pasadena pickups are tight and defined; exactly what you want from such a metal machine as the Sunset-7 Extreme. With a scale length of 27 inches, the low, thicker strings remain very defined; even in drop tunings. The tight sound is partly achieved by the string-through-body design.
