The RGX420DZII by Yamaha is a versatile electric guitar that's perfect for rougher work. This fully black hot rod has an alder body and a thin maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, and two EMG HZ humbucker pickups that are ideal for tight riffs and screaming solos. With the Floyd Rose licensed tremolo you can add creative vibrato effects to your music, so go wild and pick up the Yamaha RGX420DZII!

Yamaha RGX420DZII: Armed with EMG pickups

The RGX420DZII is equipped with a pair of EMG humbucker pickups. By the neck you'll find an EMG H4A, which is a versatile pickup suited for everything from blues to rock to metal. It delivers a balanced tone with strong basses, outspoken mids and warm trebles. The bridge pickup is an EMG H4, and while it also has an incredibly balanced tone, it produces tighter lows, velvety mids and a crunchy high, making it ideal for rock and modern high-gain sounds. The RGX420DZII is additionally equipped with a volume knob and a tone knob for filtering the high frequencies, and you can use the 3-way switch to choose between the pickups or a combination of the two.

Floyd Rose tremolo bridge

The bridge of the Yamaha RGX420DZ is a double-locking Floyd Rose licensed tremolo. A tremolo is a bridge that tilts, whereby the strings tension is tightened and loosened to influence the intonation, and you use a tremolo arm to control it. A Floyd Rose tremolo is special because it can tilt forward and backward for extreme high to low vibratos. This system is also unique because it keeps your guitar from going out of tune with its construction that feeds the string through the nut and clamps it down at the bridge. With such a system, fine-tuning can be done via the six fine-tuners on top of the bridge. Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai were among some of the first to use this tremolo system that is known and loved today by metal guitarists and shredders all around the world.
