General

The Takamine GY21E-SM Satin Molasses has a compact sapele body with a solid spruce top. This is the smallest full-scale guitar in Takamine's range, the smaller size makes this instrument very suitable for young guitarists but also as a travel guitar. In terms of sound, the GY21E-SM certainly doesn't have to undercut larger guitars: this guitar has a tight, strongly projected sound with a pronounced midrange and delineated overtones. The Satin Molasses finish leaves the natural markings of the wood visible and provides a warm, robust look.
You can play this guitar both acoustic and amplified, volume and tone controls are provided on the Takamine TP-3G preamp, and it also has a built-in tuner.
