Sire Larry Carlton G5A Natural Satin Electro-Acoustic Guitar
I really wanted to like this guitar. Everything about it seemed perfect on paper for me, and when I received it the guitar itself looked absolutely beautiful - evidently a quality instrument. However, I found myself quite disappointed by the sound. I tried it through three different high quality acoustic amps and had the same issue on all of them. The guitar sounded overly muddy and lacked definition between notes. I found myself perpetually adjusting the EQ sliders to try to establish clarity of tone and a good EQ balance but just wasn't able to. The notes, when played, sounded agricultural rather than vibrant. I was very disappointed and feel that Sire could have done so much more with this guitar. Maybe others will have a different experience keeping in mind that I am a fingerstyle player and this guitar might suit more traditional pick playing better.
