Rosewood was chosen for the sides and back, and the neck is a combination of both rosewood and mahogany. Thanks to the neck's 5-part construction, it is not susceptible to bending or warping. Moreover, the LS6 ARE is constructed in such a way that the neck is seamlessly connected to the body, to provide optimal sound. The traditional neck profile was developed with a focus on playing comfort over the entire length of the 20-fret bound fingerboard, and the fingerboard additionally features mother-of-pearl position markers. The body's interior features a new and improved bracing pattern that works to optimise the bass response without drowning out high notes.

Acoustic Resonance Enhancement & SRT Zero Impact

Something special about the top is the Yamaha ARE process it underwent. This process is a wood-handling technique that controls temperature, air pressure and moisture to change the molecular structure of the wood. The result is a top that sounds as if it's years old, so it provides a sound that is richer and more open. Finally, the LS6 ARE Brown Sunburst features an SRT Zero Impact contact pickup, so that you can amplify your guitar on the stage or in the studio without decreasing the integrity of the original acoustic sound while maintaining maximum resonance capacity.
