General
This Yamaha DTX562K digital drum set comes with the PCY90AT add-on cymbal. In total, you get four pads made of TCS material, an extra-sturdy and easy-to-set-up drum rack, a 691-sound drum module and no fewer than three cymbals. Furthermore, the drum kit offers a number of handy practice programs, a headphone output, a USB port and a digital effects processor.
PCY90AT cymbal
The Yamaha PCY90AT is an additional cymbal pad with a 10-inch diameter. This digital cymbal is developed for extended dynamic possibilities and has a soft feel that's great for legato playing. To connect the PCY90AT add-on cymbal with any DTX kit , all you need to do is plug it in via a standard 6.3 mm jack plug. It's truly a solid addition to your digital drum set, for drumming with more possibilities.
DTX562K digital drum set
The Yamaha DTX562K is one of the top drum kits from the DTX502 series. The drum pads, consisting of a snare and 3 toms, are fashioned from deluxe Textured Cellular Silicone material. Thanks to the extraordinary silence of TCS, Yamaha won the coveted Quiet Mark award for developing it. It plays remarkably well, and with an incredibly realistic response. The DTX526K is also noteworthy due to its real acoustic hi-hat stand.

De TCS pads voelen zeer fijn en realistisch en triggeren zeer goed, de vertical motion hihat speelt heel fijn. De sounds zijn uitstekend en er zitten een paar leuke preset kits tussen. Ook is er een app waarmee je de instellingen makkelijker kan veranderen, maar dit heb ik nog niet uitgeprobeerd.
Wat wel minder is, het volume wordt geregeld met 2 knopjes en niet met een draaiknop of iets dergelijks. Heel veel stiller dan de 'normale' rubberen pads zijn deTCS pads niet en de cymbals al helemaal niet (maar met een koptelefoon is dit geen probleem). Ook wel af en toe een beetje last van crosstalk maar dat moet ik even bijstellen in de trigger instellingen.
Voor de rest is er een duidelijke menu structuur waarin verschillende instellingen kunnen worden aangepast. Wat ook heel gaaf is is het feit dat je je eigen samples kan uploaden.

Is klein en beschikt niet over meerdere zones. Daarom naar mijn mening minder geschikt als zijnde ride of crash. Fijn dat voor deze prijs de cymbal wordt geleverd incl houder en kabel. Top!

Het is zeer eenvoudig te monteren, wel een beetje spijtig dat de hardware-stang in het zilver is en niet in het zwart zoals de rest van de hardware van mijn drumkit. Verder is de pad hetzelfde als de andere pads.
Gewoon inpluggen in de extra pad-ingang op de bassdrumpad en je hebt er zo een 2de crash bij!
