General

De volgende generatie drummers en drumsters gaat het ver schoppen met de Roland TD-02KV. Dit compacte elektronische drumstel heeft de expressieve geluiden die we kennen van veel duurdere V-Drums maar dan verpakt in zestien speelklare sets. Deze sets bespeel je met de zeer responsieve pads, waaronder een PDX-8 gaas-pad.

TD-02 module

De bediening van de TD-02 module wijst zich vanzelf. Zet de module aan en je kunt meteen door de 16 speelklare drumkits bladeren. De geluiden zijn direct afkomstig van de veel duurdere V-Drums. Dat merk je aan de expressiviteit en de dynamiek. De coach functie leert je met leuke oefeningen om in de maat te spelen. De aux ingang op de module kun je gebruiken om vanaf je telefoon of een ander apparaat muziek af te spelen. Me de los verkrijgbare Boss Bluetooth Audio Midi Dual Adaptor kan dit ook draadloos.

Pads, pedalen en hardware

De Roland TD-02KV set wordt geleverd met een snaredrum pad, drie tom pads, twee bekken pads, een hihat pad, een hihat pedaal en een kick pedaal. Ook je huisgenoten en je buren zullen heel blij zijn met je nieuwe TD-02KV. De pedalen hebben namelijk een heel stil ontwerp. De pads zijn gehuisvest in het extra ruime MDS-LITE rack. De hoogte van de pads kun je eenvoudig instellen, zowel voor een 5 jarige als voor een volwassene.

De Roland TD-02KV V-Drums nu een paar weken in huis en het is heerlijk om deze i hoekje van de werkkamer te hebben. De drum- en bekken sounds in de 16 presets zijn erg goed, al zal je die niet allemaal gaan gebruiken. Je kan de volumes en gevoeligheid van de onderdelen apart regelen en er is een metronoom ingebouwd. Verder niet veel toetsers en bellen. De rubber-achtige pads van de toms maken wat meer geluid en reageren niet zo lekker als de mesh snaredrum, die erg lekker speelt en reageert. Ook is het mesh vel heel zacht wat fijn is voor je snaredrum oefeningen. Ik kan me voorstellen dat je de kick zou willen vervangen door de meer realistische KD-10 kick maar voor eenvoudig werk is het voldoende met de pedalen voor hihat en kick die zijn meegeleverd.
De hele set is snel opgezet met de handleiding en neemt verbazingwekkend weinig ruimte in.
Ik heb qua hoofdtelefoon wel een neutrale Roland keyboard hoofdtelefoon aangeschaft voor €45,- . Let ook op dat er geen bluetooth aansluiting is. Als je alleen hoofdtelefoons in huis hebt om naar Spotify te luisteren of te gamen ( ik had een Sony en een JBL aangesloten met draad) dan zijn die veelal veel te dynamisch waardoor de kick en staande tom over hun nek gaan.
Alles bij elkaar zou ik de set zeker aanbevelen als je thuis wilt maar niet kan oefenen, zoals in een appartement.

Wat een uitkomst om te kunnen drummen zonder je zorgen te maken over overlast! Deze compacte set past prima in een hoek en geeft een mooi geluid op mijn koptelefoon, maar ook zeker via mijn basversterker (Ashdown 300w).

Alles van prima kwaliteit (zoals ik gewend ben van Roland) en staat goed stevig: er rammelt of schudt niets. Heb 'm nu een paar weken maar al heel wat (avond)uurtjes speelplezier genoten.

En dat voor een heel nette prijs: ik ben er hartstikke blij mee. Deze set is gewoon genoeg en goed.

Voelt aan als goedkoop ding en dat is het ook, geluid erg dof en mat, basgeluiden moeilijk te onderscheiden, klinkt als een opgeblazen box, imitatieleder bekleding oordoppen en hoofdbeugel gaat snel schilferen en laat stukjes los.
