Fully focussed on serious practice and home recording sessions, the Roland TD-27KV2 V-Drum kit comes with an upgraded drum module and even more realistic cymbals. If you're wondering what makes the second-gen version of the TD-27KV electronic drum kit better than the original: it's all about sound and feel. The TD-27V2 features a significant cymbal-upgrade, including a VH-14D hi-hat which packs a more detailed and nuanced sound, plus extra-thin 12" and 14" crash cymbals that are up to 40% thinner than their predecessors and get even closer to that authentic acoustic feel. Add that to the 18" ride and the 14" multi-sensor snare and you're looking at everything you need for extremely accurate, highly dynamic sound.

The backbone of the drum kit is the TD-27 V2-module, which comes loaded with ten new preset kits, three reconfigured kits, and various effects and sound-processing options. Product is fantastisch, levering was wel enorm slecht georganiseerd. Mijn bestelling werd ook plots deels geannuleerd en geretourneerd waardoor ik het eerste deel moest terugsturen en ik de drum een tweede keer moest bestellen. Ben nog steeds aan het wachten op de terugbetaling van de retour van de eerste drum. Dit probleem lag echter aan de leverancier. Hopelijk ben ik de enige die zulke problemen ervaren heeft.

Ik was erg verbaasd over de vele ingebouwde sounds in de module, hiermee kun je je drumstel helemaal samenstellen. Je hebt ook de mogelijkheid om eigen sounds te importeren op een sd kaart en die te gebruiken. De afspeel en opneem mogelijkheden zijn ook erg goed. Je kunt via bluetooth geluid afspelen en midi opnemen. Via usb kun je in je DAW het geluid van je drumstel opnemen of gewoon het midi signaal.
De pads voelen goed aan en zijn van groot formaat vergeleken met de ander drumstellen. Ook de bekkens werken erg goed, elke bekken heeft een edge en top sensor en dempt als je hem vastpakt. Ik was bang dat de hi hat niet goed zou werken, maar na een beetje met de instellingen proberen kom je een heel eind. Speel er nog steeds heel veel op en werkt nog super. Top aankoop dus!

De sounds van Roland blijven weergaloos. Je hebt nagenoeg eindeloze mogelijkheden om drumkits naar je hand te zetten. Ook kun je sounds toevoegen uit de 'cloud' van Roland. Opnames maken op SD-card behoort eveneens tot de mogelijkheden.
Op voorhand was ik sceptisch over het op zijn plek blijven van de kick-drum. Ik gebruik een Roland TDM-10 drummat medium onder mijn kit. Alles blijft perfect op zijn plek zonder extra maatregelen. Een aanrader dus!
Duidelijk mag zijn dat ik heel tevreden ben over deze kit. Als ik dan toch één verbeterpunt zou moeten noemen, dan is dat de omvang van de floor tom. Voor de echte speelbeleving van een akoestische kit zou die wat mij betreft wat groter mogen.

opbouw van het geheel is vrij eenvoudig met begeleverde instructies.
robuust zoals gewoonlijk van Roland, en daarbij steken de hihat en vooral de snaredrum er bovenuit.
geweldige speel ervaring.
uteraard veel configuratie mogelijkheden om precies de sound te creeren die je wilt.
het afstemmen van de hihat blijft wel een dingetje, aangezien deze niet altijd de open-closed sound maakt die past bij de handeling.
wat heel tof is dat je dit drumrack kunt combineren met een KD 220 waardor je stage precense in 1x verhoogd wordt.
de kickdrum past precies tussen de 2 poten in en zo krijg je in een keer die akoestische look dankzij een grote bassdrum.
