General
iConnectivity can pride itself on some seriously innovative interfaces. There are only a few audio/MIDI interfaces that allow you so much freedom when it comes to routing audio and MIDI tracks. Take the iConnect AUDIO2+, for instance. Regular audio interfaces usually only have a single USB connector, but the AUDIO2+ allows you to plug in two computers or one computer and one iPad at the same time. That means you have two microphone/instrument/line and MIDI inputs, as well as four line outputs available on both devices. In fact, other audio and MIDI channels can also be freely exchanged!
Routing with iConfig
For iConnect interfaces like the AUDIO2+, the included iConfig software (available for PC and Mac as well as iOS) plays a vital part. Check out your options, and you'll notice how easy it is to route audio and MIDI any way you like. A MIDI device that's connected to your PC or Mac, for instance, can communicate with a MIDI app on your iPad. Even better, it's possible to send a DAW track from your computer to an iOS effects app, and then reroute the signal to your computer once more. Just imagine the possibilities, keeping in mind that some apps are only available for iPad!

Toen ben ik met de iconnectmidi2+ aan de gang gegaan. Maar dat viel tegen want daarbij heb je Asio4all nodig. En Asio4all is onstabiel. Werkte overigens beter in Cubase dan in Live. Wel signaal maar geen geluid, of wel geluid van audio en vst's maar geen ipad signaal.
Maar doordat het in Cubase stabieler was nam ik het risico om bij Bax toch een iconnectaudio2+ te bestellen. Ik wou zo graag mijn ipad signaal in mijn daw hebben. Deze is in goede staat, loopt niet vast en Live is ook niet trager. Vreemd genoeg maar het is eindelijk gelukt. Belangrijk is wel dat de te duur geprijste adapter gekocht moet worden, want tijdens mijn eerste ervaring kreeg ik mijn ipad air2 niet ingelogd in de iconfig software op de ipad. Met adapter is dit geen probleem en het is toch handig dat de ipad oplaadt.
Al met al een heel gedoe. De helpdesk van iconnectivity geeft wel antwoord op vragen, maar als je met meer vragen zit krijg je ineens geen antwoord meer. Daar kunnen ze dus wel aan werken.
