General

The DiMarzio DP175 True Velvet Neck single coil pickup is specifically tuned to capitalise on the strongest aspects of a vintage single coil tone. It is very difficult to make a vintage pickup that is bright and clean, but that is still comfortable to listen to even above the 12th fret. So the True Velvet is a pickup that shows that it can. The coils are tuned to be more or less in a 'sweet spot', where the sound is not too thin, but not too penetrating either. This makes the pickup enormously versatile, allowing you to easily switch from musical styles like country, to some heavier blues.
