Is the volume knob of your (bass) guitar making a nasty cracking noise when you touch it? Your potentiometer may need replacing! The Alpha ALP250-A31 is a cheap replacement part. Its 250K logarithmic taper makes it a perfect volume control for electric guitars or bass guitars with low-output pickups such as single-coils for instance. The split shaft makes it suitable for most knobs (without screw).

Please note: this potentiometer features a coarse shaft with 18 teeth and is only suited for coarse knobs. These knobs can be found on guitars from Japan, China, Korea, and Indonesia. For American knobs, it's best to use potentiometers by brands like Fender and CTS.
