General

The DiMarzio DP408 Virtual Vintage 54 Pro has a very thick, 'woody' sound with a sound that almost seems to get compressed the harder you hit the strings. Especially in the bridge position, this pickup is very nice for blues guitarists, precisely because of these sound characteristics. This element features an Alnico 2 magnet, which pulls a little less on the strings, and generally has a very fine and warm sound. Thereby, the element shares the technique used in the Area 58 and Area 61 elements. Guitars that naturally sound very bright can be tamed by this pickup for a warmer sound, by placing it in the neck or middle position.
