With the Area 58 and the Area 51, DiMarzio has made great strides in the world of noise-cancelling Stratocaster elements. The modern technology used to make these models has also been applied to Telecaster-style pickups. As a result, the DiMarzio DP417C Area T Neck is as quiet as the Area 58 and the Area 51. Telecasters are known for their bright, dynamic sound and DiMarzio didn't skimp on that. This guitar pickup therefore delivers the familiar Telecaster sound, but without the infamous noise that single coil pickups so often possess. For a traditional look, the element is fitted with a chrome cap that does not otherwise affect the pickup's tone or performance. This version is for in the neck position of a Telecaster-style guitar and is a worthwhile upgrade.

Telecaster sound

A warm-sounding neck pickup combined with a bright bridge pickup is one of the defining factors of a Telecaster guitar. However, getting to this sound perfectly is still tricky. If the neck pickup sounds too woolly and indistinct, it already no longer has the sound you are looking for. The same goes for the bridge element, which has to sound bright enough. The Area T Neck delivers a full, deep sound with enough clarity that even with heavy overdrive, your parts come out clearly. Originally, this pickup is designed to work with 250k potentiometers, but for more volume and brighter high frequencies, 500k potentiometers would be a better choice.
