General
The DiMarzio DP427 Sugar Chakra is a single-coil pickup that has more or less the same attack and projection of a humbucker, while keeping the clarity intact. The pickup was designed for Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen and tested it extensively during the G3 tour with Satriani and Petrucci, among others. The end result is a single coil bridge pickup with a full sound, lots of crunch in the midrange and cuts in the high just enough so that it stands out well in the mix. The pickup works best in solid-body guitars, playing to the strengths of guitars that naturally have a bright sound.
