Product information

General

The DiMarzio DP723 Rainmaker 7 Neck pickup was designed in collaboration with Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci. During the design phase of this element, he expressed his desire to go in a more blues-like direction, which may seem an odd choice when it comes to a 7-string. However, the result is a pickup with an interesting mix of warm highs and a fairly open-sounding midrange. The result is a fine, slightly overdriven sound that still holds up solidly at lower volume levels. This Rainmaker pickup therefore has a wider frequency range than most of Petrucci's signature models.
