EMG 707 active humbucker for seven-string guitar

Although active elements for seven-string guitars were also on the market before 2001, the low B string always continued to cause problems. Due to the lower string tension, it often sounded messy and undefined. The EMG 707 is the first element designed specifically to counter this problem. Using an Alnico V magnet and a wider coil, EMG managed to make even the low B string sound tight and defined. As you would expect from an active EMG, the 707 is well suited for high gain applications. However, it is milder in character than the EMG 81-7, making it as suitable for brutal metal as it is for jazzy passages. The EMG 707 can be used in both bridge and neck positions.

Installing your EMG element:

EMG's elements are delivered very complete. So there are no unpleasant surprises during installation. For instance, potentiometers for volume and tone control are included that are specifically aimed at active elements. These 25k potentiometers are already prepared for the EMG Quik-Connect system, making soldering unnecessary. The included stereo output jack can also be connected without soldering.
