General

This is the Seymour Duncan Alpha 8-String Humbucker Neck Black (supplied individually). This is a passive aggressive Mark Holcomb signature dual-coil neck pickup, intended above all for 8-string electric guitars. Working closely with this Periphery (and Haunted Shores), this pickup has been developed to more than excel while playing progressive metal, djent and related styles of music. In any case, don't expect vintage-style sounds when placed in the neck position.

Alpha 8-String: full-bodied with a lot more articulation

This element from Seymour Duncan finds its basis in the more contemporary-sounding ceramic magnet. This provides that fat neck humbucker sound with a lot more clarity. It is also designed to combine best of a bridge and neck pickup in 1 element. So you still have that creamy sound, but with all the nuances of your pick and fret work. To combat feedback, this Mark Holcomb element has undergone a vacuum wax treatment. The 4-core cable also allows you to coil-split this 8-string Alpha humbucker for a single-coil guitar sound.
