The D'Addario NYXL1074 is a so-called hybrid set. This 'Light Top Heavy Bottom' string set combines the high strings of a regular .010 set with extra-thick low strings. The result is an incredibly powerful low end for heavy chords, while the high strings have enough flexibility for extreme bends. This set is optimised for 8-string guitars with a 27-inch scale. The longer string length gives the strings more tension, making them feel nice and tight. Perfect for heavier work and fast solos.
