General

The D'Addario NYXL0838 is the lightest set of strings in the NYXL Series. These .008 to .038 inch-gauged Super Light electric guitar strings can be bent a little further, sound louder and boast a higher tuning stability than other nickel-plated strings. In addition, they're about 20 to 40 percent stronger and break in nice and fast.

The D'Addario NYXL0838 Strings: More Mix-Slicing Power

It's not uncommon for sound engineers to boost the mids of a guitar to help it cut through the mix for a studio take. For these New York made nickel-plated steel strings, however, D'Addario came up with a brand-new formula that grants the strings 6% more magnetic permeability than traditional nickel-wounds, resulting in a clear boost across the 1 to 3.5 kHz frequency range. In short, get the D'Addario NYXL0838 Extra Super Light electric guitar strings if you want to add more presence and crunch to your tone.
