General

The D'Addario NYXL1254 is a Heavy 12-54 string set for electric guitar. This set is distinguished by the g-string made of tin-plated high-carbon steel. This results in more flexibility than a standard .012 string set. Ideal if, for example, you play a tone lower but still want to be able to push the strings up easily. Moreover, NYXL strings are 20-40% stronger than any other comparable string, allowing you to push the strings further without breaking them!

D'Addario NYXL: more presence and crunch

To make a guitar stand out better in the studio or on stage, extra mids are often added. D'Addario has developed an entirely new formula for these nickel-plated steel-wound strings made in New Yoek. As a result, they are 6% more magnetic than traditional Nickel Wound strings. The result is clearly audible as a boost in the 1 to 3.5 kHz range.
