General

The Celestion G10 Gold combines the particularly pleasant vintage sounds of an Alnico magnet with the direct sound of a 10-inch driver. Its wonderfully organic and classic sound includes rich bass, shimmering mids and sparkling, yet pleasantly rounded trebles. The G10 Gold delivers excellent performance as a stand-alone speaker in a cabinet or provides a warm but not too bassy sound in a 4 x 10 configuration. The speaker has a load capacity of 40 watts and an impedance of 16 ohms (see also the 8 ohm version).

The history of the G10 Gold

Briefly, the pedigree of the G10 Gold: It all started with the G12 speakers, which were a standard part of the famous VOX AC30 guitar amps in the 1960s. The modern reissue of these speakers was the much-loved Celestion Blue Alnico. However, as there was a need for a more powerful version of this 15-watt driver, Celestion came out with a 50-watt version: the Celestion Gold. Finally, for a more focused sound, a 10-inch brother was added: the Celestion G10 Gold.
