The Celestion Gold is an extremely powerful version of the Celestion Blue: the world's most famous guitar speaker. The Blue played a hugely important role in the development of the electric guitar sound as we know it today. It delivers a clear, very lively sound, with a tight low and glossy high. Its vintage sounds are still popular today. You can expect the same performance from the 50-watt, 12-inch Celestion Gold, but with a hefty dose of extra power. Guitarists' reactions are purely laudatory!

The Celestion Gold and the Blue

The original 15-watt Celestion Blue Alnico was based on the G12 speaker, which was widely used for the famous VOX AC30 amps in the 1960s. Alnico magnets are loved for their classic, organic and melodic sound, to which the Blue largely owes its sparkling sound. Many manufacturers had already attempted to make a copy with a higher load capacity, but only Celestion succeeded with the Gold in preserving the classic, bright 'Blue' sound at even the highest sound levels.

Wrote the following about Celestion Gold guitar speaker 12 inches 50 W 8 ohms

Ik heb deze speakers nu al een zestal maanden zitten in mijn Low power tweed twin en ben er ongelooflijk tevreden over. In het begin waren de klanken met wat drive een beetje hard en scherp maar nu de speakers wat ingebroken klinkt de de amp heerlijk met wat oversturing, zeer creamy ;-) .
De speakers zijn heel transparant en projecteren zeer goed hoe de effectieve gitaar waarop je speelt klinkt. dit zorgt er natuurlijk voor dat je de settings van je amp per gitaar wel wat moet aanpassen.
Clean sounds sustainen eindeloos lang en klinken zeer muzikaal.
Ik heb nog een oude Vibrolux waar er Eminence Rajun Cajun's inzitten, ook zeer goeie speakers maar ze worden toch overtroffen door de Celestion Gold's.

De Gold is een erg mooie speaker voor cleane sounds en geeft dan een mooie brede klank met een warm klinkend laag.

Met distortion klinkt deze speaker echter venijnig scherp en geef ik de voorkeur aan de Vintage30, die veel goedkoper is.

Gezien de prijs had ik meer verwacht van deze speaker.
