At the time, the Roland JV-1080 became a classic, a real studio workhorse. It was succeeded by the JV-2080, the same device with a larger and graphic display (similar to the JD-990) and additional effects. Later, the JV series as a whole was replaced by the XV series. First the XV-3080, with the same simple display as the JV-1080, and later the XV-5080 was added - and you can guess which display was on it. Still the XV-5080 is a mighty fine synthesiser module. And for years, the in-the-boxers have been saying "it's quite handy, such a thing in your studio", but well, just find a virtual XV.
