You're probably wondering whether you're looking at a keyboard or a bite-sized digital piano. The truth is that the Casio CT-S1 is a bit of both. Available in various colours, this 61-note keyboard features a minimal, digital-piano-style lay-out plus a bunch of surprising traits and functions under the hood.
The Casio CT-S1: Lots of Sonic Flavours
Casio have loaded the CT-S1 with 61 sounds of higher quality than you'd expect. The section of controls allows you access seven main categories of sounds from a piano, organ, synth and a handful of other instruments, and each category comes in four tonal flavours including modern and vintage. You even get to select that famous Mellotron flute heard in Strawberry Fields Forever and the synth-brass sound that characterises the Van Halen classic, Jump!, plus a fat stack of vintage Casio-synth sounds. Reverb, chorus and delay effects also come built in, while the velocity sensitivity can be set to one of three different curves or turned off completely.
There's More!
Casio believe musicians should be able to make music anywhere, anytime. This honourable belief is evidenced by the handle that's been integrated into the design of the CT-S1 as well as by the fact that the keyboard can run on the included power supply or six AA batteries. Also, even though it doesn't resemble a keytar in the slightest, it's equipped with a standard guitar-style strap button for gigs, and Casio have even built in a recorder, Bluetooth support (WU-BT10 Bluetooth Adapter not included) and two speakers. Add everything up, and the CT-S1 is easily worth your hard-earned cash.

Ondanks B-Stock is er niets mis met het apparaat.
De klank is mooi, de bediening eenvoudig, en het is al gelukt om hem met een kabel te koppelen aan mijn Android tablet.
Hier ga ik met veel plezier mijn muziekspel verder mee ontwikkelen. Af en toe begeleiden van de gemeentezang in de kerk met wat akkoorden en een melodie lukt al. Nu door!

Wat een mooi compacte keyboard. Het staat bij ons prominent in de woonkamer en vervangt een hele oude Casio. Wat een verschil. Prachtig design. Het geluid is mooi en de toetsaanslag heel fijn. Omdat er geen display is moet ik even zoeken naar de verschillende functies, maar wijst merendeels zichzelf. Lekker lichtgewicht en plat.

Enorm positief verrast! Ziet er heel goed uit, mooi compact formaat. De klank is boven verwachting. Wát een verschil met 10-20 jr terug! Makkelijk te vervoeren naar bv mijn koor repetities. De aanslaggevoeligheid is ook fijn. Toetsen voelen fijn aan. Ik ben gitarist, bassist, beginnend violist maar dit is een welkome aanvulling en een mooi instrument om mee te beginnen. Zeker gezien de prijs. Een echte pianist zal wel andere wensen hebben (meer toetsen etc) vermoed ik. Voor mij is dit een heel fijne aankoop.

Zelfs voor een professionele muzikant met een studio is het gewoon een heel fijn instrument! Vooral omdat hij zo portable is, goeie geluiden heeft en ook prima speelt! Gebruik hem zelf vooral als portable piano en om liedjes op te schrijven, ideeën op te bedenken en hem vooral gewoon te pakken zoals ik dat ook met mijn akoestische gitaar doe. Hij doet het altijd en daarom blijf je er ook op jammen! Prima instrument voor het doel en het is fijn om een goed klinkend keyboard te hebben, waar je letterlijk overal op kan spelen! Alle geluiden zijn ook via midi aan te sturen, net als een general midi module en een best aardige drumkit. Heel blij mee, dus!

De casio CT-S1 is een erg goed klinkend compact keyboard. Ik gebruik het om mee te nemen naar repetities van koren. Het is gemakkelijk mee te nemen, maar het belangrijkste vind ik dat de piano klank heel goed is en dat, ondanks dat het geen gewogen toetsen heeft, de aanslag toch goed voelt.
